Richard Agnew - Acupuncturist

Richard became interested in acupuncture after training in qigong and various Chinese martial arts, ultimately getting a licentiate and degree in acupuncture from the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine and Kingston University. He also has a psychology degree from the University of Sheffield.

Richard works using a combination of Five Element and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) styles of acupuncture, and he tends to use relatively few needles, quite a lot of tui na massage and offers tailored exercises, dietary and lifestyle advice where appropriate. Richard also teaches qigong.

Richard has plenty of experience with fertility and pregnancy, musculoskeletal and stress-related problems and have a particular interest in treating musicians.

Richard's Qualifications

♦ LicAc, BSc (Hons) Acupuncture – College of Integrated Chinese Medicine (and Kingston University)

♦ BSc (Hons) Psychology – University of Sheffield

The nearly 4 year acupuncture degree course included training in both traditional acupuncture and conventional medical sciences, as well as 9 months in the student clinic.

♦ Since graduating, Richard has taken various additional training courses, with a focus on needling techniques, bodywork (massage) and qigong.

♦ Member of the British Acupuncture Council
